Join Michelle Beatty to learn Indigenous-based yoga, a combination of vinyasa, hot yoga and restorative yoga combined with Indigenous ways of living, knowledge and practices. Beginners welcome.
Classes run weekly January 4 - March 18. No class Feb. 15. Classes involve movement (asana practice) with story time, meditation sessions, Indigenous teachings, and sharing circles.

Class Schedule
Week 1 -What is Yoga? -Gentle beginner class & breathing techniques.
Week 2 - Trauma sensitive (trauma informed mind and body practice followed by sharing circle).
Week 3 -Survival and Belonging -Story time, practice and sharing circle.
Week 4 - Discovery of self (through native teachings and Vinyasa Yoga)
Week 5 - Resilience - Story time and gentle Yoga
Week 6 - Courage - Story time and Beginner Hot Yoga
Week 7 - Nature - restorative class , Native American flute music
Week 8 - Love (loving ourselves & others)
Week 9 - Empathy and Kindness , story time and basic Asanas poses
Week 10 - Reborn , closing circle , meditation
Michelle Beatty is a member of the Peter Ballantyne Cree nation and she is from and resides in Deschambault Lake, Saskatchewan on treaty six territory. Michelle received her certification in a 200hour Yoga teacher training from the Saskatchewan Indigenous Yoga teacher association. Michelle is a third year Kinesiology student at the University of Regina and a fourth year Indigenous Health studies student at the First Nation University of Canada.
