Saskatchewan Native Plants

Join John Skinner, naturalist, educator, native seed farmer, and ecological restoration expert, to learn about Saskatchewan native plants and how to use them to create your prairie restoration.

An in-person viewing of this program will also be available at George Bothwell Library on October 27th from 7:00 PM - 8:00 PM in meeting room GB2. Drop in to join other plant enthusiasts attending the program with GB staff taking care of the technological set-up. All you need to do is show up and enjoy the program!

Presenter Bio: John Skinner has been growing native seed on a contract basis and on the open market since 2000. His contract customers include Grasslands National Park, Viterra, Native Plant Solutions, Brett Young, and Medicine Lake Wildlife Refuge. He has experience growing many different warm season kinds of grass, cool season grasses, and forbs in a large-scale, farm setting. Skinner Native Seeds also has a lot of experience collecting wildflower seeds on the prairie both for sale and to grow for increase. Currently, he is working on a large ecological restoration on a beautiful piece of prairie in west-central Manitoba.
