The Truth About Credit is an interactive webinar designed to empower participants with essential knowledge about credit management. Offered by the non-profit Credit Counselling Society, this 1-hour live session tackles widespread confusion around credit by breaking down complex concepts into actionable insights.

Key topics include:

  • Credit Report Literacy: How to read your credit report and differentiate between credit reports, ratings, and scores 12.
  • Score Impact Factors: Identification of the 5 core elements affecting credit scores, plus strategies to build or protect credit health 115.
  • Myth Busting: Addressing common misconceptions (e.g., "Checking your report lowers your score") with evidence-based facts 1.
  • Practical Self-Assessment: Guidance on legally accessing your credit report and interpreting its implications for loans, housing, or employment 12.

The workshop uses a "grab and go" approach - encouraging attendees to apply one or two immediate strategies—and includes dedicated Q&A time. Designed for all financial literacy levels, it emphasizes proactive credit management without sales pitches for paid services.
