Ages 12 and older. Spring into gardening by learning about native wildflowers and the importance of selecting non-invasive plants this season.

This is an in-person program. Registration is required.

This hands-on program provides the materials to sow a selection of native seeds for you to take home, along with the chance to paint a pot for your wildflowers as they begin their pollinator journey.

Participants can also test their knowledge of native plants and invasive species prevention through a fun digital trivia game, accessible from your smartphone. The top three highest-scoring participants will win a prize!

About the Presenter: Bryanne Wandler is a Youth Coordinator for the prairies division of Youth Eco Stewards, a new initiative Invasives Canada has launched with funding support from Canada Service Corps. Youth Eco Stewards is a national, environmental skills development program for youth between 12-30 years old. Invasives Canada works with partners across the country to deliver tools and resources that call for Canadians to take action and prevent the spread of invasive species. Some notable campaigns are Clean Drain Dry, Plant Wise/Grow Me Instead, and Play Clean Go. Learn more about Invasives Canada here: InvasivesCanada.ca

About the branch

Albert Branch is an inner-city branch that serves the North Central area of Regina. It is located in mâmawêyatitân centre, a one-of-a-kind facility shared by the City of Regina, the Regina Board of Education and Regina Public Library to that offers integrated services and resources and services to in the North Central community.

Albert Branch offers an extensive collection of adult, young adult and juvenile materials that support and reflect the members of this unique community. The Branch also offers programming that develops knowledge and understanding of the diverse cultural groups in Regina, while highlighting the Indigenous community.

The Albert Branch collection includes fiction and non-fiction titles, CDs, DVDs/Blu-ray, spoken word, graphic novels, magazines, family literacy kits, Indigenous language kits and access to all the RPL digital resources.
