In Sublime: Poems for Vanishing Ice, celebrated poets from across Canada and the U.S. consider the beauty, fragility and decline of ice. These are poems that ask: what will be released as the planet’s ice melts? And how will this reshape the planet we call home?

Presenter Information:
Bruce Rice is a previous Saskatchewan Poet Laureate, an editor and essayist. In addition to six poetry collections, his new nonfiction book, Standstill: A Hopewell Earthworks Daybook and Other Essays (Long Road Press 2024), asks how we can respond authentically to these ancient Indigenous places. His characters ‘live in the world’ and speak with what the Winnipeg Free Press called “a tour de force of voice.”
gillian harding-russell is a Saskatchewan poet, editor, and reviewer. gillian harding-russell has published five collections of poetry and eight chapbooks. Poems are forthcoming in The Malahat, Queen’s Quarterly, Transition, and a new chapbook, A Handle on Things, will be released by The Alfred Gustav Press in the summer of 2026.
Yolanda Hansen lives and writes in Treaty 4 (Regina SK) where she works with the Saskatchewan Writers' Guild and reads all she can get her hands on. Her work has appeared in magazines like Briarpatch, Deep Wild Journal, MANTIS and Fieldstone Review and the anthologies I’ll Get Right on It and Sublime. She shares her life with her husband, two sons and three rescue cats.
Ev Bishop is the 2026 RPL Writer in Residence. Ev is an award-winning, USA Today bestselling author of more than twenty novels. She's best known for small-town contemporary romance and women's fiction, including her River's Sigh B&B series. She also writes under the pen name Toni Sheridan. A columnist for almost twenty years with the Terrace Standard, she's published numerous articles, essays, short stories, and poems.
