The program is in person

Ages: Children learning the instrument must be supervised by a caregiver at all times.

Dates: The program runs on the second Saturday of each month from 2:00–4:00 p.m.

Materials: RPL may have a limited number of ukuleles available through our music instrument lending program. If you have your own ukulele, please bring it. To borrow one, check the catalogue for availability and place a hold at least one month before the class date. If you require assistance, please contact us at 306.777.6000.

Presenter Information: Queen City Ukes (QCUkes) is a friendly, easy-going group that meets once a month to share their enjoyment of the ukulele. Members vary in skill level and number of instruments owned, but they all share a love of singing and strumming together.

The group is supportive and enjoys building skills through their monthly gatherings, often learning new techniques from one another. Members value the social aspect of the jams and find it much more enjoyable to play together than alone at home. They also use an extensive online library with chord charts that is available to everyone, and members sometimes bring printed music to share.

Originally based out of Sawchyn Guitars in Regina, the group was started by David Calum over a decade ago. At one time, it had over 50 members and was known for its lively, well-attended sessions. Now, in 2026, as part of Regina Public Library programming, the group is excited to welcome new members interested in learning and sharing the ukulele.
