This is an in-person program. 

Registration: Registration opens on June 8, 2026 12:00 PM. 

Learning Outcomes: Participants will learn basic jam-making techniques, including fruit preparation, cooking, and safe storage. They will gain confidence in creating simple recipes they can repeat at home. They will also explore the cultural connection between food, tradition, and sharing.

Materials: Materials are provided for this program. 

Allergy Notice: This program involves food preparation and tasting. Ingredients may include a variety of fruits, spices and common items such as sugar and citrus. While we aim to be mindful of dietary needs, we cannot guarantee an allergen-free environment. Please inform staff of any allergies in advance and participate at your own discretion.

Presenter Information: Fidaa Almughrabi was born in Lebanon and raised by Palestinian parents. She completed her college education in Texas before moving to Canada in 2005.  She currently resides in Regina and works with the Regina Community Clinic. She loves cooking and is excited to share her cooking stories with the Regina community.

About the branch

Albert Branch is an inner-city branch that serves the North Central area of Regina. It is located in mâmawêyatitân centre, a one-of-a-kind facility shared by the City of Regina, the Regina Board of Education and Regina Public Library to that offers integrated services and resources and services to in the North Central community.

Albert Branch offers an extensive collection of adult, young adult and juvenile materials that support and reflect the members of this unique community. The Branch also offers programming that develops knowledge and understanding of the diverse cultural groups in Regina, while highlighting the Indigenous community.

The Albert Branch collection includes fiction and non-fiction titles, CDs, DVDs/Blu-ray, spoken word, graphic novels, magazines, family literacy kits, Indigenous language kits and access to all the RPL digital resources.
