Join us as we celebrate the Writer in Residence, EV Bishop, and the writers she has been working with during her term.

Enjoy original works by Ev Bishop and local writers who participated in the Writer in Residence program, and discover the stories and creativity developed throughout the residency.

Ev Bishop is an award-winning, USA Today bestselling author of more than twenty novels. She's best known for small-town contemporary romance and women's fiction, including her River's Sigh B&B series. She also writes under the pen name Toni Sheridan. A columnist for almost twenty years with the Terrace Standard, she's published numerous articles, essays, short stories, and poems.  

Following the readings, guests are invited to stay and mingle while enjoying light refreshments.

About the branch

The RPL Film Theatre screens the best of world cinema – up to 15 films a month. The Film Theatre has “something for everyone” and is the only cinema in the city to consistently present critically-acclaimed contemporary and alternative cinema: Canadian, foreign and independent films and documentaries.

For more than 50 years, Regina Public Library (RPL) has played a pivotal role in the cultural life of the city of Regina and surrounding areas. In the mid-60s, interest in a permanent venue for film enthusiasts grew into a program at the Library – a co-operative effort between the local Film Council and the National Film Board of Canada. A landmark year for the cultural, multi-cultural and surrounding business communities was 1975, the year the RPL Film Theatre was officially launched.
