It all started in the Boreal Forest of Northern Alberta Canada in May of 1990. Melody McArthur was born to be a powerhouse vocalist and passionate performer. McArthur composed, wrote, and Executive Produced her forthcoming highly anticipated 7th album, The Gospel Truth while on tour with Bear Grease across North America including playing one of two leads in the first ever all-Indigenous cast musical to feature on New York City Broadway's Playbill.
McArthur’s work has garnered national and international recognition, including honours from Edify Magazine’s Top 40 Under 40 and a 2025 Horizon Alumni Award via the University of Alberta. She was nominated for Song, Songwriter, and Female Vocalist of the Year in Nashville via the 2025 Grand Ole Opry Josie Awards. McArthur most recently starred in the world premiere of Tomson Highway's “Rose” at the National Arts Centre in Ottawa, Ontario March 25 - April 4, 2026 and the 2026 Indigenous Writer's Circle for Amazon's Audible subsidiary.

The Library maintains an extensive calendar of programs, training opportunities, art exhibits in the Dunlop Art Gallery, along with film screenings in the Library's very own repertory film theatre!
