Generic advice doesn’t get jobs, specific strategies do. Whether you are a newcomer or student looking to secure a survival job for immediate income, a recent graduate launching your professional journey, or a career changer pivoting transferable skills into a high-demand industry, the YQR Hire Me Series is built for you.
Join us for a hyper-local session designed to clear the path between applying and hiring in Regina. We move beyond generic templates to unpack the specific application channels, local hiring practices, and manager expectations across our city’s major employment sectors. From entry-level survival jobs to credential-driven career paths, each workshop equips you with a practical toolkit for your resume, your interviews, and your long-term workplace integration.
Regina's health sector hires administrative and reception staff across two very different environments — each with its own entry requirements, application process, and hiring culture. Most applicants miss out not because they aren't capable, but because they searched using the wrong job titles and never saw the posting, applied directly for permanent full-time roles without realizing casual and part-time positions are the real entry point, or underestimated the credential requirements that apply even to entry-level clerical and reception roles.
This session is designed specifically for newcomers with healthcare administration or office experience seeking stable entry points in Regina's health sector, recent graduates from medical office assistant or business administration programs, and career changers looking to understand the pathway, credentials, and preparation needed to enter healthcare administration.
Please Note: This topic is delivered as a two-module workshop series. Each module stands alone and can be attended independently.
Module 1: Health Authority Admin & Receptionist Roles: How to navigate a unionized, seniority-driven hiring framework — identifying the right entry-level roles, applying through the correct portal, building a compliance-first resume that passes automated screening, and scoring a structured behavioural interview using the STAR method.
Module 2: Private Clinic Medical Office Assistant & Receptionist Roles: How to target Regina's private clinics, specialist offices, and medical centres — shifting your resume and interview approach to emphasize patient-facing service, scheduling accuracy, confidentiality, and the interpersonal warmth that private clinic hiring managers prioritize over clinical credentials.
