About Katie Achtzehner
Katie Achtzehner is a professional violist and music teacher based in Regina, Saskatchewan. She spends her time teaching at the Conservatory of Performing Arts, performing with the Regina Symphony Orchestra, and attending the University of Regina. Katie has taught music for over seven years and currently teaches private lessons, violin group classes, and coaches a junior orchestra. Katie was principal viola of the South Saskatchewan Youth Orchestra for 7 years, and of the University of Regina Orchestra since 2024. In 2025, Katie toured and performed with the National Youth Orchestra of Canada. In recent years, Katie has studied with Collectif9, David Harding, Kerson Leong, Sharon Wei, and many others.
Central Library, the largest of the nine Branches in the Regina Public Library system, is a social and informational hub in the heart of downtown Regina. The Library maintains an extensive calendar of programs, training opportunities, art exhibits in the Dunlop Art Gallery, along with film screenings in the Library's very own repertory film theatre!
