Traditionally, ribbon skirts are worn by Indigenous women and girls during ceremony and special community events. Over time, ribbon skirts have evolved and are now seen at events to show support for causes. Women and girls wear these brightly coloured ribbon skirts to honour their ancestral practices and itโ€™s a way to connect to their traditions and an expression of culture.

Learning outcomes: In this 2 day workshop, you will have an opportunity to make your own Ribbon Skirt, and to learn about its traditional significance.

This workshop is all inclusive and welcomes participants from all genders and identities.

About the branch

Regina Public Library opened its first shopping mall location as what was then known as Regent Park Branch in 1966.

Since 1995, Regent Place Branch called 107 Albert Street home, and provided the community with a full-service Library Branch.

In February 2012, the Branch moved into a temporary location in the Regina Market Mall, while a new Regent Place Branch was being designed and built.
