Professor Nils Clausson will challenge the iconic image of Sherlock Holmes in popular culture and show that Conan Doyle's original stories exposed the limits of science of deduction and analysis.'

Nils Clausson is Professor Emeritus of English at the University of Regina, where he taught from 1984 to 2014. He specialized in Victorian literature and has published articles on Charles Dickens, Matthew Arnold, H. G. Wells, Oscar Wilde and Matthew Arnold. He also taught a course on the history of detective fiction. He is the author of Arthur Conan Doyle's Art of Fiction: A Revaluation (2018) and is working on a book on the novels of Benjamin Disraeli. He was Chair of the Cathedral Village Arts Festival in 2008 and 2009 and directed several plays for Regina Little Theatre. 

This event will be held at the Cathedral Neighbourhood Centre, All Purpose room. Street parking.
