The medicine wheel is a circular symbol divided into four quadrants. The medicine wheel is used as a tool for learning, health, healing, and teaching. These teachings vary from one Indigenous community to another according to their stories, values, and beliefs. The four areas of the medicine wheel have attributes assigned to them, such as: the Four Directions, the four stages of life, the four states of being, the four sacred medicines, the four seasons, the four colours of people on Mother Earth.
